Yoga and Meditation Retreat Above Lake Brienz
Spend a mountain weekend with therapeutic yoga, meditation, mantra, a guided hike and generous time to rest above Lake Brienz.
Why it caught our eye
The programme makes a short mountain retreat feel spacious: clear guidance in the mornings and evenings, a long pause on Saturday, and an experienced teacher who demonstrates rather than assuming prior knowledge.
About this experience
Arrive on Friday afternoon at Schweibenalp, a community-run retreat centre set at 1,100 metres above Lake Brienz. Over two nights, a small group moves between the temple-style meditation room, gentle yoga practice, mountain paths, shared vegetarian meals and quiet time of its own.
What you can expect
The weekend opens with a circle and grounding practice. Saturday brings early meditation, therapeutic yoga, a guided hike towards the lake, a long free afternoon, evening practice and mantra chanting. On Sunday you meditate, practise, explore an art-therapy exercise and close together around lunchtime. Every session is an invitation, and the optional Friday fire ceremony costs extra.
Good to know before you go
Check-in is Friday at 15:00 and the retreat ends Sunday at 13:00. Prices start at CHF 698 per person and include two nights, organic vegetarian full board and all regular sessions; the optional fire ceremony, travel and insurance are extra. Sessions are in clear English, mats and props are provided, and warm layers plus sturdy shoes are useful in November. The programme runs from six participants; the booking deadline is 6 November 2026.
