Art of Meditation: Three Days in Québec
Begin a personal meditation practice with individual guidance, small-group sessions and time in nature at the International Art of Living Centre.
Why it caught our eye
Individual guidance gives the weekend a personal starting point, while group sessions let you return to the practice with questions. The programme also leaves space between sessions for rest and exploring the grounds.
About this experience
Set aside a weekend to explore a meditation practice you can bring home. Samer Tamaz guides this English-language retreat at the International Art of Living Centre in Québec. Personal instruction and small-group practice sit alongside yoga, shared meals and time in the surrounding landscape.
What you can expect
The approximate programme begins with supper and personal instruction on Friday. Saturday and Sunday include morning practice and meditation sessions. There is free time for seasonal outdoor activities or rest, plus an evening of kirtan, a form of shared chanting, or a knowledge session. On Sunday, you can stay after lunch and depart at your leisure.
Good to know before you go
CAD 475 is the option without accommodation; shared-room options start at CAD 515. Couple options require two participants to register with matching accommodation. A CAD 125 repeater fee is listed: contact the centre for the code and confirm any lodging costs separately. Vegetarian meals are listed. Save directions offline: from Route 351, follow the centre’s yellow sign onto Chemin de L’Harmonie, rather than Chemin du Lac Gareau.
