Dancing Mindfulness with Stacia Barrett
Explore presence through music, movement prompts and the freedom to move in your own way.
Why it caught our eye
The freedom to choose your movement is central to this session. It offers a concrete way to explore mindfulness through the body without needing to learn a dance sequence.
About this experience
Make room to notice how your body responds to music. In this free online workshop, Stacia Barrett introduces Dancing Mindfulness, a practice of paying attention to the present moment through movement. There is no prescribed way to dance: you choose how far to explore, guided by your own comfort.
What you can expect
Follow music and movement prompts while noticing sensations and your responses in the moment. You can let the interaction between sound and your body shape your movement. The facilitator’s approach leaves the level of exploration with each participant.
Good to know before you go
The workshop is free. Book before the ticket deadline. Stacia is named as the facilitator; the organiser describes Dancing Mindfulness as a trauma-informed practice.
