Butoh Workshop: Between Light and Shadow

The workshop offers a clear and welcoming route into Butoh, connecting imaginative prompts with embodied exploration while making room for both newcomers and older participants.

Performing artist Teresa Stelzer leads a 3.5-hour Butoh workshop at Tanzschule TingleStep in Chemnitz. Guided images and movement invitations explore the space between chaos and calm, joy and grief, retreat and reaching outward.

The workshop combines meditative attention, imagination and free movement. Teresa Stelzer guides participants to notice inner impulses and translate them into physical expression; an optional moderated dance jam with live music follows from 17:30 to 20:30.

Tickets range from EUR 35 to 75 and sales are listed as open until 16:30 on 31 October 2026. No previous dance experience is required, and people over 60 are explicitly welcome. Bring comfortable clothing, a large towel or blanket, and something to eat. The workshop is held in German.
