Ten-Day Intensive Chan Retreat with Venerable Chang Wu Fashi
A residential silent retreat for experienced Buddhist meditators, led by Venerable Chang Wu Fashi.
Why it caught our eye
The clearly stated experience requirement and full silent schedule make this a focused option for established practitioners looking for sustained Chan practice.
What you can expect
Days begin early and alternate 30- or 40-minute seated meditation periods with walking meditation and yoga exercises. Dharma talks and individual conversations are part of the programme, and silence is kept throughout.
Good to know before you go
Participation requires experience of at least one five-day Buddhist meditation retreat. The standard fee is CHF 1,080; a CHF 1,200 supporter rate is also offered, with reductions available on request. Accommodation in single, twin or triple rooms, vegetarian meals and dana for the teacher are included. The retreat is taught in English, with individual German translation possible. Bring comfortable, unobtrusive clothing. Registration includes questions about meditation experience, health conditions, medication, diet and emergency contact details.
