Dreampool: Collective Dreaming and Sound
An evening of dreamwork, composed sound and collage with Lindsay Merlihan and Efa O’Neill at Segotia in Dublin.
Why it caught our eye
The listening session has a tangible creative follow-through: a journal entry and a handmade Dreamzine. Efa’s specially composed sound and Lindsay’s visual-art practice give the evening a clear artistic focus.
What you can expect
The evening opens with an introduction to dreamwork and the use of herbs in dreaming traditions, then a mugwort tea ritual. You listen to Efa O’Neill’s 40-minute composition before journalling and making a collage Dreamzine with Lindsay Merlihan. If you wish, you can read a line from your writing as a voice sample for a future composition. This contribution is optional. The sound journey itself will be recorded live for the Dreampool collection.

What this is
Dreampool brings dreamwork into a shared creative setting at Segotia. Lindsay Merlihan introduces the practice, followed by a mugwort tea ritual and a 40-minute sound journey composed by Efa O’Neill. Afterwards, there is time to write and make a small collage publication, a Dreamzine, from what emerges. Lindsay is a visual artist whose studies include art, psyche and creative imagination. Efa works as a DJ, audio producer and sound designer. Her composition brings together electronic sound, field recordings, voice and spoken guidance. The gathering forms part of an ongoing artistic collection of dreams in Ireland.
