Dances of Universal Peace Day in Edinburgh
Join a moving circle of sung prayers, mantras and simple steps, taught afresh by Scottish dance leaders with live musical accompaniment.
Why it caught our eye
Learning each dance together gives newcomers a way into a practice that brings voice, movement and sacred traditions into the same circle.
About this experience
Bring your voice and curiosity to a day of Dances of Universal Peace at the Salisbury Centre. These circle dances combine sung sacred phrases with simple movement, drawing on different spiritual traditions. Each dance is taught anew, so you can join without having learned the steps beforehand.
What you can expect
Scottish dance leaders guide the circle with live musical accompaniment. The current programme names Dominic Ashmole, Jenny Williams and Mirabai Sue Musgrave. Singing and movement shape the day, with a shared lunch to which you may bring simple food. Beginners are warmly welcomed.
Good to know before you go
A £20 donation is suggested towards the day’s costs. Simple food for the shared lunch is optional. To book, contact Sarah Bonner-Morgan or Lise Bech using the email addresses on the official event page.
