Dukh Bhanjan: Meditation Night in Hamburg
An evening of sung mantras, Indian raags, meditation, sound and silence at Hamburg’s Kirche der Stille.
Why it caught our eye
The extended 3.5-hour format gives listening, singing and quiet equal space, while the organiser’s practical preparation notes make the gathering easier to approach.
What you can expect
Doors open at 19:30 and the meditation programme begins at 20:00. The evening includes classical Indian raags, the mantras Vaheguroo, Ekoangkare and Har Har, communal singing, meditation and periods of silence, ending at 23:00.
Good to know before you go
Participation is free and advance Eventbrite registration is requested; the organiser invites each participant to plant a tree in exchange, with optional donations to Naad Yoga Council e.V. Bring a warm sitting mat, an extra blanket if needed and a drink in a sealed bottle. Comfortable light clothing, warm socks and a cotton head covering are requested; shoes are removed in the main room. The event is substance-free, including alcohol.
What this is
Dukh Bhanjan is a communal evening of listening and singing. Classical Indian raags and sung mantras lead into meditation, with shared voices, sound and silence shaping the practice.
