Dynamic Qigong + Art Expression: Reroute to Rise
A 3-hour Dublin workshop pairing dynamic qigong with guided art-making, breath practice and candlelit meditation.
Why it caught our eye
The shift from dynamic qigong to drawing with long bamboo dowels, then candlelit meditation, gives this 3-hour workshop an unusually vivid and varied arc.
About this experience
At Segotia, Lisa Shaw guides a three-hour workshop that moves from dynamic qigong into art-making and quiet practice. Qigong is a Chinese practice that brings movement, breathing and attention together. Here it is followed by guided mark-making with long bamboo dowels, then seated and lying breath practice, candlelit meditation and a final round of movement. The workshop takes its cue from winter’s slower rhythm and the organiser’s Chan, Wu and Yi framework.
What you can expect
The first part is active qigong. You then use long bamboo dowels to make free-flowing marks on paper. The final part is seated and lying down, with guided breathing, candlelit meditation and gentle movement to close. The page marks the workshop as suitable for all levels.
Good to know before you go
The workshop takes place in Segotia’s Yoga studio in Dublin and is taught in English. The organiser lists the price as €65 and says cancellations are accepted up to three days before the session.
