An Introduction to Vipassana with Adriaan van Wagensveld
Try seated and walking meditation, with an introduction to Vipassana and time for tea and questions in Idstein.
Why it caught our eye
Seated practice, walking and conversation offer several ways into the same subject. The chance to ask questions and use a chair makes the introduction approachable without requiring a retreat commitment.
About this experience
Give yourself an afternoon to explore meditation through practice and conversation. Adriaan van Wagensveld introduces Vipassana, the Buddhist practice of insight meditation: noticing thoughts and present experience without immediately following them. The gathering combines explanation with opportunities to sit, walk and ask questions.
What you can expect
After a welcome and introductory talk, Adriaan guides seated meditation. A tea break leads into mindful walking meditation, followed by discussion of your experiences, questions and ways to bring the practice into daily life. No previous meditation experience is needed.
Good to know before you go
Participation is free. A voluntary Dāna donation, meaning a gift according to your means, is invited towards room costs. Register by emailing your name and participant count to vipassana-event@proton.me. Doors open at 13:30.
