Lidong: Qigong for the Turn Towards Winter

Mark the start of winter online with Rosie Edgington through gentle movement, standing meditation and sound.

Why it caught our eye

The seasonal theme gives the movement, stillness and sound a shared thread. It offers several ways to explore Qigong in one session, rather than asking you to arrive already familiar with the forms.

About this experience

Make room for the quieter turn of the season with Rosie Edgington. This online Qigong session marks Lidong, the traditional start of winter, through movement, breath and sound. Qigong is a Chinese practice that brings gentle movement together with breathing and focused attention; complete beginners are welcome.

What you can expect

Explore Ba Duan Jin, often called the Eight Brocades, alongside Zhan Zhuang, a form of standing meditation, and Healing Sounds Meditation. Rosie frames the practice through Traditional Chinese Medicine’s seasonal associations, using autumn clearing and winter stillness as themes for reflection.
