Marlborough Ecstatic Dance & Cacao: The Divine Feminine

The arc is unusually well defined: quiet arrival, cacao, sustained free movement and a gentle sound-led close, with practical boundaries clearly published in advance.

Check-in is followed by a short period of silence, a welcome circle and centring practice, then a cacao ceremony and free-form dance. A mini sound bath, closing circle and fruit complete the evening. The dance space is sober and shoe-free.

For adults 18+. Men and people who identify as male are welcome, and no dance experience is stated as required. Standard admission is £24; a £19 concession ticket is also available, and the live checkout showed no added fee. Bring water, comfortable layers and grip socks if you prefer not to dance barefoot. No alcohol or recreational drugs are permitted. Cacao is not recommended during the first trimester of pregnancy, with a serious heart condition, epilepsy or while taking antidepressants; the host suggests a lower dose at your own risk. Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred. Photos or video may be taken. Accessibility details are not published, so contact the organiser before booking if needed.

Alison Heaslewood facilitates an evening that moves from a cacao circle into an unguided ecstatic-dance journey, with handpan and percussion woven into the music. The gathering closes with a short sound bath and fruit, keeping the focus on embodied movement, attentive listening and shared ritual.
