Morning Gaga
A 50-minute English-language Gaga movement class at Tanzhaus Zürich, open to people aged 16+ with any level of dance experience.
Why it caught our eye
The guided yet individual format makes space for personal movement research in a welcoming group setting, with no dance background required.
About this experience
Céline Barreau teaches an English-language Gaga class at Tanzhaus Zürich. Gaga is an improvisational movement practice: layered, image-rich prompts invite participants to notice physical sensations, connect with imagination and explore movement without copying a set sequence.
What you can expect
A 50-minute class built from a continuous series of spoken prompts. The instructions gradually layer awareness, sensation, flexibility, stamina, agility and expressive movement while each participant chooses how to embody them.
Good to know before you go
Open to ages 16+ and all dance or movement backgrounds. The class is in English in Studio 1 at Tanzhaus Zürich; enter via nude café. Wear comfortable clothes and dance barefoot or in socks. Bring water and a towel. A single class costs CHF 30; current passes are CHF 60 for three classes and CHF 135 for five classes, including taxes.
