MOVEMENT Ecstatic Dance with BOOGIEMEISTER
Explore freeform movement with Gabriel Francisco, then dance to BOOGIEMEISTER’s global rhythms in a substance-free community gathering.
Why it caught our eye
The guided opening offers a way into the dance before the continuous musical journey. Clear agreements around consent and the dance floor give the shared experience a considered structure.
About this experience
Start with curiosity about how your body wants to move. MOVEMENT brings Gabriel Francisco’s Dance Is Life exploration and BOOGIEMEISTER’s musical journey together at Sacred Heart Church. Ecstatic dance here means freeform conscious movement to a continuous DJ set, with room for your own expression.
What you can expect
Begin with guided movement alone, in pairs and as a group, followed by an opening circle. BOOGIEMEISTER blends global rhythms, house, funk and electro-swing with live bass, guitar, melodica and percussion. The morning closes with a sound bath and meditation.
Good to know before you go
First-timers and experienced movers are welcome, as are children. This is an alcohol- and substance-free gathering: leave shoes off, and keep conversation and phones off the dance floor. Bring water. Seek clear permission before physical contact, respect boundaries and ask the team if you need support. The organiser describes a donation-based sliding scale; current advance tickets offer a standard donation or a higher contribution. Volunteers must arrive promptly at 9am to dance free. No refunds.
