Día de los Muertos Ecstatic Dance with King Kairos
Bring remembrance into movement with King Kairos, Brigitte Wittmer and a community altar at MOVEMENT in San Francisco.
Why it caught our eye
The optional remembrance altar gives this dance a particular focus, while the movement practice, opening circle and quiet close create a clear arc around the music.
About this experience
Join MOVEMENT for a Día de los Muertos gathering where remembrance meets freeform dance. A community altar offers a place for photographs or keepsakes of loved ones who have died, alongside a morning of movement, music and reflection.
What you can expect
Brigitte Wittmer opens with Movement Alchemy before the opening circle. King Kairos then guides the music for Ecstatic Dance, a conscious dance practice without set steps. A sound bath and closing meditation bring the gathering to a close. The dance floor is wordless, and physical connection requires clear consent.
Good to know before you go
Tickets are USD 30–50 on a donation-based sliding scale; the organiser also lists USD 30 drop-in entry at the door. Bring water and, if you wish, a photograph or keepsake for the altar. Shoes, phones, alcohol and other substances stay off the dance floor. Children are welcome.
