MOVEMENT: Ecstatic Dance with Tasha Rose

Follow yoga into a wordless dance floor, with Kirin Power opening and Tasha Rose shaping the music.

Why it caught our eye

The transition from Kirin’s guided yoga to Tasha’s open dance floor gives the morning both structure and room to improvise. A quiet floor keeps attention on the music and the movement people choose for themselves.

About this experience

Let the music offer a starting point for your own movement. MOVEMENT brings yoga, a shared opening circle and ecstatic dance to Sacred Heart Church in San Francisco. Ecstatic dance is freeform movement to a continuous DJ set: there is no choreography to follow, and the dance floor stays free of conversation.

What you can expect

Kirin Power opens with a yoga flow before the gathering forms an opening circle. Tasha Rose then guides the music through downtempo, house, techno, global rhythms and bass. A sound bath and closing meditation follow the dance. Seek clear permission before physical contact and respect each person’s boundaries.

Good to know before you go

Bring water and leave shoes, phones and conversation off the dance floor. The event is alcohol- and substance-free; children are welcome. Registration is a sliding-scale donation of USD 30–50. The organiser also offers free dancing to volunteers who arrive at 9am.
