Memphis Habitat: New Volunteer Information Session
Learn how to volunteer on Memphis Habitat’s build sites or in its ReStores, with an introduction to volunteer leadership.
Why it caught our eye
You can explore two different ways to contribute, from practical work on homes to helping in a ReStore. The introduction also explains how volunteers can grow into supporting others as team leaders.
About this experience
Curious about helping create affordable homes in Memphis? This online introduction lets you get to know Habitat’s programmes before choosing how to take part. Discover opportunities on the build site and in the ReStores, the shops that sell donated goods to support Habitat’s work.
What you can expect
The team introduces its programmes, volunteer roles and expectations, and the route to becoming a volunteer leader. No volunteering experience is needed; Habitat says training, tools and equipment are provided for its volunteer roles. Choose either information session; attending both is not required.
Good to know before you go
The session is free and takes place on Zoom. Register for your chosen date; the joining link arrives by email that morning. Future build-site and ReStore volunteering starts at age 16, with an accompanying adult for under-18s; 16–17-year-olds cannot use power tools.
