Steinbrüchel Conservation Volunteer Day

This is a practical way to contribute to a local reserve maintained by NVMU since 1978. Its ponds, meadow, fruit trees and hedges support a varied habitat, and seasonal care helps keep that variety intact.

Work includes cutting reeds and installing the new information display. Depending on what is needed, the group may also carry out maintenance at Pfruenderhaab, Chiletöbeli and possibly Bahnweg. Ueli Hofmann leads the day. Snacks, drinks and a free lunch are provided; lunch is also offered to half-day helpers.

Participation is free. Meet at Steinbrüchel beside Im Russer 41, Männedorf. Bring sturdy footwear and gardening gloves; other tools are provided. Non-members and half-day volunteers are welcome. The detailed invitation gives an approximate finish, so arrange a shorter stay with the leader if needed. For practical questions, contact Ueli Hofmann on 076 494 85 43.
