Restore & Renew: Restorative Yoga and Live Viola
Move gently, rest in supported poses and listen to live viola with Rowena Mittal and Meena Bhasin.
Why it caught our eye
The handover from Rowena’s movement guidance to Meena’s live music gives the evening a clear arc. Supported rest becomes a starting point for listening, with both practices sharing the same space.
About this experience
Give movement time to soften into stillness. Rowena Mittal and violist Meena Bhasin bring restorative yoga and live sound together in this evening at Yoga Flow SF. Restorative yoga uses props to support the body in poses held for several minutes, leaving room for quiet attention rather than a flowing sequence.
What you can expect
Begin with slow, mat-based movement, then settle into poses supported by bolsters, blankets and blocks. An extended savasana, a resting posture lying down, leads into Meena’s viola, voice and sustained drone sounds. Guided meditation and gentle exploratory movement are also part of the programme.
Good to know before you go
All experience levels are welcome. Bring a yoga mat and water bottle, wear comfortable clothes and add layers for resting. Mat rental costs USD 5 if needed. An eye pillow, eye mask or head wrap is optional. Arrive 10–15 minutes early.
