Silent Meditation Retreat at Hofgut Rineck
A seven-night German-English silent retreat with meditation, contemplative writing, body practice, nature walks and vegetarian meals.
Why it caught our eye
The retreat makes silence feel approachable: a clear daily structure, experienced guidance and time in nature give both first-time and established meditators a practical way to settle into the week.
About this experience
Susanne Ahlendorf and Martin Bruders lead a bilingual week of silence at Hofgut Rineck in the German countryside. Sitting and walking meditation, guided practice, contemplative writing, gentle body practice and nature walks follow a steady daily rhythm, with trauma-informed guidance and space for individual questions.
What you can expect
From days two to seven, the day begins with body practice and meditation, then moves through breakfast, longer periods of sitting and walking meditation, nature walks, meals, an opportunity for individual consultation and an evening session. Phones, social media and news are set aside so the group can practise in silence. The final morning gently returns to speaking and connection, followed by lunch.
Good to know before you go
This seven-night retreat is taught in German and English. Beginners and people with an established meditation practice are both welcome. The participation fee is EUR 510 and does not include accommodation, meals or travel. A room at Hofgut Rineck can be reserved only after retreat participation is confirmed; the venue serves vegetarian food.
