Singing Circle Soul: Vocal Improvisation in Basel
Explore your voice through shared improvisation with musician Aleksander Gaidai.
Why it caught our eye
The voice is both the instrument and the meeting point here. Improvisation makes room for your own sounds while asking you to listen to what other people contribute.
About this experience
Let a sound become the beginning of something you make together. In Singing Circle Soul, Aleksander Gaidai invites you to explore vocal improvisation: creating sounds and musical ideas in the moment. The circle brings individual voices into a shared practice of listening, responding and expression, with no musical education required.
What you can expect
Try guided vocal and musical exercises, including work with guitar or piano, and sing alongside the group. The organiser also offers a chance to try conducting the circle. You can join whether you are discovering improvisation or already have a singing practice.
Good to know before you go
Registration is required. A single ticket costs CHF 30, or CHF 50 for two people. The organiser also lists free places for refugees and a donation option. Choose your session when registering.
