Singing Circle with Sandra Brauer in Hamburg
Build spontaneous layers of sound together in an open singing circle, with no sheet music or musical experience needed.
Why it caught our eye
Repeating a small phrase gives you a way into collective improvisation, without needing to invent a whole song or bring a trained voice.
About this experience
Sandra Brauer invites you to make music in the moment at WIESE e.G. in Hamburg. Circle Singing begins with a short melody, rhythm or sound that others repeat; new vocal layers gradually join it. Every voice is welcome, including those who have been told they cannot sing.
What you can expect
Start with a vocal warm-up, then explore sounds and musical patterns together. The group sits or stands in a circle, with room for body percussion or movement as the improvisation develops. There are no prepared songs to learn or notes to read, and the open group has space for up to 25 people.
Good to know before you go
Arrive 10–15 minutes early so the circle can begin on time. Entry is by voluntary donation towards room and organising costs, with a donation jar available. If you cannot attend, cancel your ticket and message Sandra so the place can be released.
