The Simple Surrender: Guided Darkness Meditation
Settle into darkness at home with Lora Sasiela, through a body scan, quiet reflection and optional sharing in a small online group.
Why it caught our eye
The invitation has a clear shape: prepare a quiet place, turn your attention inward, and leave room to reflect afterward. We appreciate that sharing is optional and that the group is limited to twelve.
About this experience
What becomes noticeable when there is nothing to look at? In The Simple Surrender, Lora Sasiela invites a small online group to explore meditation in darkness from home. A guided body scan offers a way to begin, with journal prompts and quiet reflection around the time spent in the dark. You can join the closing conversation or keep your experience to yourself. The evening draws on Lora’s personal interest in dark retreat, while offering a short, guided encounter with the practice.
What you can expect
Lora introduces the practice of dark retreat before guiding a body scan and a period in complete darkness. There is space for journaling or silent reflection before and after, followed by optional group sharing. Afterward, participants receive The Simple Surrender Resource Guide, including a guided meditation audio.
Good to know before you go
Join through Zoom with a stable internet connection. Bring a blackout eye mask, a journal and pen, and arrange a comfortable bed, couch or cushion where you will not be interrupted for two hours. Earplugs are optional. The group is limited to twelve, and the organiser offers no refunds.
