Yoga and Trauma: Teaching with Care
Explore trauma awareness and the boundaries of your teaching role with YOGAHILFT.
Why it caught our eye
It gives the teaching relationship and its responsibilities a clear place alongside yoga practice.
About this experience
How can you offer a steadier space for people with difficult experiences? YOGAHILFT’s professional development course introduces trauma awareness and the autonomic nervous system, the network behind many automatic bodily responses. With Angela Dunemann, you explore the responsibilities and limits of teaching yoga to vulnerable groups.
What you can expect
The 9-hour course combines theory and practice across two required sessions. You look at how trauma can affect the nervous system, what falls within a yoga teacher’s role and where its boundaries lie. The focus is on supporting vulnerable groups through yoga with a clearer understanding of your responsibilities.
