Zachte Kracht: gentle yoga during and after cancer
A gentle Dutch-language yoga workshop in Amsterdam for adults living with or beyond cancer.
Why it caught our eye
A thoughtful, explicitly cancer-aware workshop that makes room for different bodies, energy levels and stages of treatment.
About this experience
When cancer enters life, it can feel as if everything stops. This gentle mini-retreat offers space to return to the body without expecting yoga to fix everything. With Eva Noorda, Tjitske Boogmans and Janneke Boshouwers (House of Ichō), participants can explore what they need, where their limits are and how to move toward trust at their own pace. Open to adults 18+ affected by cancer, during or after treatment and across prognoses; no previous yoga or particular fitness is required.
What you can expect
Begin with guided meditation, breathing and an introduction to the organisers’ approach to yoga alongside cancer care. The second half brings adapted restorative yoga, supported resting postures, and yoga nidra, a guided relaxation practice. There is also space to share experiences.
Good to know before you go
The workshop is in Dutch and is for adults aged 18 or over. The workshop-only ticket costs EUR75; the separate book-inclusive package costs EUR92.50. Contact the organisers beforehand about physical concerns; they can arrange a short phone call. This workshop does not replace medical care: consult your treating doctor if unsure whether to participate. Specific workshop cancellation terms apply.
