Zen Introduction Day in Zürich-Wiedikon
A beginner-friendly day of seated and walking meditation, simple Zen rituals and practical guidance.
Why it caught our eye
The day gives first-time participants a clear route into Zen, combining practical posture and meditation guidance with context, questions and a realistic picture of silent practice.
About this experience
Zen teacher Klaus-Peter Wichmann leads a quiet introduction to Zen at Bethaus Wiedikon. The day combines seated meditation, walking meditation, simple rituals and short talks that place the practice in context.
What you can expect
The group moves between instruction, Zazen, walking meditation and periods of silence. Short talks introduce posture, breath, working with thoughts, recitation and the background of the Glassman-Lassalle Zen tradition, with time for questions.
Good to know before you go
The course costs CHF 80. No previous Zen experience is needed, but the organiser requires psychological stability and readiness to practise in silence; dark or neutral clothing is preferred. The venue is four minutes on foot from Zürich-Wiedikon station. Cancellation is free until two weeks before the course, CHF 50 thereafter, and the full fee applies for non-attendance.
