Weekly Zen Meditation in Wettingen

A Friday evening practice of zazen, walking meditation, mindfulness and concentration with the Haus Tao meditation group in Wettingen.

Why it caught our eye

A long-established local Sangha with a clear weekly rhythm, an open approach to experience levels and transparent contribution options.

About this experience

Every Friday, the Haus Tao meditation group meets at Bewegungsraum mit Herz for an hour of Zen practice. The evening combines zazen and walking meditation with mindfulness and concentration. The group’s traditional roots include Japanese Zen, Chinese Chan and Indian Vipassana. Practice centres on noticing thoughts and feelings without judging or following them, then returning to the present moment. The Sangha was founded around 30 years ago and is organised non-hierarchically. Beginners and experienced practitioners are welcome. Herbert Eberle is the organiser and contact. The group notes that members may also lead a zazen evening when they feel ready.

What you can expect

Zazen and walking meditation in a 1-hour weekly group practice. The exercises bring attention to body, mind and feelings and extend mindfulness into everyday actions and encounters.
