Breathwork for Men with Petra Peyer in Horgen
An evening of honest conversation and guided breathing with Petra Peyer, from everyday breathing tools to a lying-down breath journey with music.
Why it caught our eye
The movement from listening to one another into a shared breathing practice gives this circle a clear shape. Petra combines simple exercises for everyday use with a longer guided exploration, while keeping speaking and participation voluntary.
About this experience
Make room for conversation that goes beyond everyday roles, then explore your breath with Petra Peyer. This men's circle brings open exchange together with practical breathing exercises and a guided breath journey. You can speak about what matters to you, or simply listen. Petra guides the group from light, slow nasal breathing and simple breath holds into conscious connected breathing: a continuous rhythm without a pause between inhaling and exhaling. The journey takes place lying down, with music and guidance throughout.
What you can expect
After arriving and settling in, you hear how the evening will unfold and discuss safety and confidentiality. The men's circle leaves space for topics brought by the participants, followed by functional breathing inspired by the Buteyko method and Oxygen Advantage. A guided connected-breath journey of around 45 minutes leads into rest, sound, grounding and a closing round. A few words or silence are equally welcome. Breathing and emotional expression may be audible; nothing has to happen, and you may pause, rest or step outside whenever you need.
Good to know before you go
No previous experience is required. Wear comfortable, loose clothing and bring water; an eye mask is optional. Mats and blankets are provided, or you can bring your own. Eat lightly, ideally two hours beforehand, and leave time afterwards if possible. The organiser advises against this practice with severe cardiovascular disease, a history of stroke or aneurysm, epilepsy or seizures, uncontrolled severe asthma, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia, recent surgery or acute injury, severe osteoporosis, detached retina or glaucoma. Contact Petra before booking about any medical condition, mental health concern or uncertainty. The session is not medical or psychological treatment.
